About the role#
As a Big Data Factory Automation Intern, you will support the development of software systems for factory automation and engineering test data. You will work alongside the Big Data group to plan, design, develop, and test software solutions. This role involves a defined project with specific goals, and you will receive formal, written feedback throughout your time here. You will also participate in an intern webinar series, attend networking events, and present your project results at a poster session.
What you'll do#
- Create data pipelines and develop data visualizations.
- Automate data-based applications to support business decisions.
- Perform data mining and analysis to identify opportunities for operational excellence.
- Extract and develop management reports from databases.
- Apply best practices while working with team engineers.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a Bachelor or Master degree program in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Data Science, or a related field.
- U.S. Citizenship or U.S. Permanent Resident status.
- Understanding of relational and cloud database structures.
- Programming experience in Python, Java, JavaScript, or C++.
- Database design and administration skills using tools like MySQL, Oracle, or MongoDB.
- Experience with web services such as AWS or Azure.
- Proficiency with Business Intelligence and visualization tools like QuickSight or MS PowerBI.

- This position is located in Lowell, Massachusetts.
- This is an on-site, full-time, paid internship.
- Work terms are rolling.
