About the role#
This is a full-time, paid summer 2027 internship based on-site in Northampton, Massachusetts. You will work with the millimeter-wave module design team on a project focused on additive manufacturing of RF absorptive materials. You will receive mentorship and guidance from experienced engineers throughout the 12-week program.
What you'll do#
- Create a procedure for 3D printing RF absorptive materials.
- Design fixtures to measure material parameters.
- Measure materials at various millimeter-wave frequencies.
- Complete an individual project with defined outcome goals.
- Participate in an intern webinar series and attend networking and social events.
- Present your project successes and pitfalls at a poster session.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a BS or MS program for Electrical or Mechanical Engineering.
- Familiarity with Solidworks or Auto CAD for fixture design.
- Experience with Ansys HFSS for RF performance simulation.
- Ability to measure RF parameters using network analyzers and related test equipment in connectorized or waveguide environments.
- Knowledge of additive manufacturing processes.
- Proficiency in data analysis using MATLAB or Python.
- Experience creating schematics and bills of materials.
- Ability to analyze and compare measurement and modeling data.
