    About the role#

    As a Process Development Engineering Intern, you will focus on backend assembly and package development for RF Power products. You will work on technology development projects, including defining specifications, creating assembly processes, and selecting materials. This role involves direct collaboration with equipment vendors, subcontractors, and internal teams to qualify and debug assembly equipment. You will also participate in new product introductions and provide technical support to manufacturing teams through troubleshooting and root cause analysis.

    What you'll do#

    • Develop backend assembly processes and package designs for RF Power products.
    • Design custom tooling to adapt standard equipment for high-volume production.
    • Perform continuous improvement activities to enhance existing processes, equipment, and materials.
    • Create and maintain design and equipment process FMEA documentation.
    • Conduct risk assessments, project reviews, and report findings to the executive level.
    • Coordinate mechanical reliability testing and failure analysis.
    • Verify and qualify new tooling, machines, and materials.

    What you'll need#

    • BS or MS in Mechanical, Material, or Industrial Engineering, Applied Science, or a related field.
    • At least 8 years of relevant experience in package and assembly process development, such as die attach, SMT, or lid attach.
    • Proficiency with die bond equipment, specifically Datacon EVO.
    • Technical knowledge of semiconductor backend assembly processes for RF Power packages.
    • Experience with engineering methods including FMEA, SPC, Pareto Analysis, Control Charts, 8D methodology, and DoE.
    • Proficiency in statistical analysis software such as JMP and design tools like AutoCad.
    • Understanding of semiconductor reliability standards and test methods.
    • Ability to work with minimal guidance in uncertain situations.

    • Compensation: $20 to $47 per hour.
