About the role#
As a Mechanical Product Engineering Intern at MACOM, you will join our mechanical product team to gain professional experience in the semiconductor industry. You will work alongside experienced engineers who provide mentorship and guidance. You will take ownership of a business-critical project with defined outcome goals and present your findings at a final poster session.
What you'll do#
- Design, build, test, and evaluate fixtures for RF microwave component manufacturing and testing.
- Complete an individual project with set goals.
- Collaborate with outside vendors and machine shops.
- Operate 3D printers for prototyping and fabrication.
- Participate in an intern webinar series and networking events.
- Present your project successes and challenges at a poster session.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a Bachelor or Master degree program in Mechanical Engineering, at least at the Junior grade level.
- Proficiency in SolidWorks is preferred, though other CAD software is acceptable.
- Experience or background in PCB fabrication.
- Hands-on mechanical experience.
- A strong electrical engineering background, specifically in RF or Microwave technology.
- Ability to work independently with limited direction.
- Strong organizational skills and a desire to learn.
