About the role#
As a Mechanical Engineering Intern, you will support new RF/Microwave component and module product introductions. You will work under direct supervision to provide micro-electronic packaging and mechanical design support. This role focuses on delivering cost-effective solutions for high volume and mixed volume manufacturing environments.
What you'll do#
- Support micro-electronic packaging and mechanical design tasks.
- Collaborate with product design, QA, reliability, and supply chain teams to qualify assembly processes.
- Work with the sourcing group to qualify vendors for materials and manufacturing.
- Help establish engineering build requirements for new product introductions.
- Generate design reports, test reports, datasheets, and bills of materials.
- Create manufacturing drawings and documentation.
- Design and develop tooling for assembly processes.
- Lead peer reviews of design concepts and participate in customer design reviews.
- Update internal design rules and troubleshoot failure modes.
What you'll need#
- BS or MS in Mechanical Engineering.
- Proficiency in Solidworks is required.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.
- Ability to work under direct supervision on projects of limited complexity.
- Conceptual knowledge of failure analysis, process troubleshooting, and Six Sigma methodologies.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office products.
- Experience with AutoCad, Minitab, FEA, or CFD software is a plus.
- Interest in design, development, and characterization activities.
