About the role#
As an Epitaxial Material Development Intern, you will gain hands-on experience with semiconductor material deposition using Molecular Beam Epitaxy (MBE), specifically focusing on GaN based materials. You will work on a personalized project designed to impact business decisions, receive ongoing mentorship, and present your findings at a final poster session. This is a paid, full-time internship.
What you'll do#
- Perform thin film vapor deposition with a focus on molecular beam epitaxy.
- Operate and maintain instruments for post-growth analysis, including Contactless Sheet Resistivity, Hall Effect measurements, and AFM.
- Record, document, and track wafers.
- Assist with repairs and general upkeep of deposition equipment.
- Participate in an intern webinar series and attend networking and social events.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a Bachelor degree program in electrical engineering, applied physics, materials engineering, or mechanical engineering.
- Completion of at least 3 years of college study.
- Experience with vacuum equipment, cleanroom work, or semiconductor physics.
- Ability to work safely in laboratory settings and cleanroom facilities.
- Capability to work around toxic and hazardous materials while using appropriate Personal Protective Equipment.
- Status as a U.S. Person to comply with ITAR regulations.
