About the role#
MACOM is looking for an End User Services Intern to join the Information Technology team. You will work with IT professionals to support employees with hardware, software, mobile devices, and collaboration tools. This role offers exposure to enterprise IT operations, troubleshooting, and workplace technology management.
What you'll do#
- Provide first-level technical support for hardware, software, and basic network issues.
- Image, configure, deploy, and troubleshoot Windows laptops and desktops.
- Support Microsoft 365 applications like Outlook, Teams, SharePoint, and OneDrive.
- Assist with onboarding and offboarding tasks, including account setup and equipment collection.
- Manage and track IT asset inventory and documentation.
- Help with hardware refresh projects and workstation deployments.
- Create and update technical documentation and user guides.
- Support mobile devices such as smartphones and tablets.
- Escalate complex issues to the appropriate IT teams.
- Participate in IT projects and process improvement initiatives.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an Associate or Bachelor degree program in Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, Cybersecurity, or a related field.
- Basic understanding of Windows operating systems.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Customer-focused mindset and a willingness to learn.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Familiarity with Microsoft 365 applications.
- Experience troubleshooting computers or supporting users in a school, work, or volunteer setting.
- Basic knowledge of Active Directory, computer imaging, networking fundamentals, and IT ticketing systems.
- Knowledge of IT hardware including laptops, monitors, docks, and peripherals.
