About the role#
This internship focuses on GaN and GaAs MMIC technologies at the MACOM fabrication facility in Lowell, Massachusetts. You will gain hands-on experience solving engineering problems that bridge materials science, device physics, and manufacturing. The role involves working on an individual, well-defined project with clear goals, supported by training and supervision.
What you'll do#
- Design and implement manufacturing routes for GaN and GaAs MMIC technologies.
- Design and run experiments to improve device performance or manufacturing yields.
- Collect and analyze in-line data to understand process splits or yield excursions.
- Create and deliver presentations on your proposals and experimental results.
- Collaborate with teams in Operations, Process Engineering, Quality, and Product Engineering.
- Participate in an intern webinar series, networking events, and a final poster session.
What you'll need#
- You are entering your senior year of a BS program or are currently enrolled in graduate studies (MS or Ph.D.) in Electrical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, or a related field.
- Coursework or experience in semiconductor fabrication, device physics, and materials characterization.
- Proficiency with data analysis techniques and statistics software such as JMP or Minitab.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- You are self-directed, organized, and manage your time well.
- Due to ITAR regulations, this position is open only to U.S. Persons (U.S. citizens, nationals, lawful permanent residents, or individuals granted asylum or refugee status).
