About the role#
As a Thermal Engineering Intern, you will work directly with full-time engineers on flight projects for the cis-lunar economy. You will gain training in aerospace thermal analysis and learn about heat transfer principles in space and lunar environments. This role involves using Thermal Desktop to perform real-world thermal modeling and analysis. You will contribute to the development of Lunar Outpost products through hands-on hardware and testing experience.
What you'll do#
- Perform thermal modeling and analysis tasks using Thermal Desktop.
- Support flight projects focused on lunar exploration.
- Learn about aerospace thermal hardware and testing procedures.
- Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team on autonomous robotic development.
- Provide tangible contributions to ongoing engineering projects.
What you'll need#
- Current pursuit of a Bachelor’s or Master's degree in a STEM field.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
- Ability to manage time and tasks under pressure.
- Strong communication skills and a preference for team-based work.
- An interest in space exploration.
Location & details#
- This is a full-time, paid internship at $24.00 per hour.
- The role is based on-site in Golden, Colorado.
- The term runs from early June 2027 to late August 2027, with flexible start and end dates to accommodate school schedules.
- Working hours are Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM.
