About the role#
As an Embedded Software Engineering Intern at Lunar Outpost, you will develop, test, and refine software for our hardware. You will work alongside full-time engineers on real projects that provide tangible value to our products. This role offers an end-to-end experience, allowing you to collaborate at every stage of autonomous robotic development.
What you'll do#
- Build, test, and refine embedded software for Lunar Outpost hardware.
- Collaborate with full-time engineers on active projects.
- Participate in all stages of autonomous robotic development.
What you'll need#
- Pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master's degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Proficiency in embedded C and experience with embedded development.
- Experience with Git, CI/CD pipelines, and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- Ability to work methodically and manage time effectively under pressure.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work in an interdisciplinary team.
- A passion for space exploration.
- Preferred experience includes C++, Python, RTOS, and working in a startup or aerospace environment.
- Preferred technical skills include board bringup, peripherals (GPIO, SPI, ADC, UART, I2C), robotic systems, HIL testing, FPGAs, Bitbucket, and NASA core flight software.
Location & details#
- Location: Golden, Colorado (On-site).
- Term: Summer 2027 (June 7, 2027 to August 20, 2027).
- Schedule: Full-time, Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM.
- Compensation: $24.00 per hour.
