About the role#
As a Systems Engineering Intern, you will work directly with full-time engineers on projects related to autonomous robotic development. You will gain experience across the full lifecycle of product development, from initial requirements to final verification. This role is based in Golden, Colorado, and runs from early June to late August 2027.
What you'll do#
- Develop, decompose, and trace requirements to meet customer needs.
- Plan and execute validation and verification activities.
- Support technical teams through the documentation, building, and testing of rover subsystems, payloads, and ground systems.
- Create and develop test plans.
- Assist with ConOps development and define interfaces between teams.
- Manage system and lower-level requirements, including performing change control and audits.
- Coordinate tasks across different engineering teams.
What you'll need#
- Pursuing a Bachelor or Master degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Aerospace Engineering, or a related field.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- Attention to detail and the ability to work methodically.
- Effective communication and teamwork skills for an interdisciplinary setting.
- Familiarity with the Systems Engineering Process and fundamental test and evaluation processes.
- A passion for space exploration.
Location & details#
- Location: Golden, Colorado (On-site).
- Schedule: Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM.
- Term: Summer 2027 (June 7 to August 20).
- Compensation: $24.00 per hour.
