About the role#
The Undergraduate Summer Internship Development Program at Loomis, Sayles & Company is a 10-week paid summer internship for first-generation undergraduate students. This program provides professional experience through project-based work and industry-specific development. Participants gain exposure to the investment management industry while building skills in communication, collaboration, and problem-solving. Placement on specific teams is determined based on your skill set and current business needs.
What you'll do#
- Update and maintain regular reports for your department.
- Prepare presentation materials, manipulate data, and present your findings.
- Work with team members on projects related to market analysis, relative value, or economic trends.
- Attend team meetings and assist with follow-up tasks like meeting minutes.
- Contribute to process improvement projects to help enhance efficiency.
- Assist with ad hoc requests for special projects and client inquiries.
- Participate in weekly professional development workshops with investment professionals.
What you'll need#
- You are a first-generation undergraduate student.
- Strong academic credentials with coursework in business, finance, or economics.
- An interest in following the markets and a basic understanding of investing.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint, including the ability to synthesize data and create charts.
- A self-starter mindset with the ability to meet deadlines.
- Strong multi-tasking skills with a focus on accuracy.
- A dependable, positive, and flexible attitude.
- Strong communication skills.

- Location: Boston, Massachusetts (On-site).
- Term: Summer 2027.
- Compensation: $24 per hour.
- This is a full-time position.
