About the role#
As an intern at Lonestar Electric Supply, you will rotate through various departments to gain a comprehensive understanding of the electrical distribution industry. You will work alongside experienced staff to support daily operations, learn business processes, and contribute to team goals.
What you'll do#
- Shadow associates to observe how we interact with customers, vendors, and partners at every level of the business.
- Provide customer service to internal and external stakeholders, including logistics professionals and vendor partners.
- Learn sales best practices, including how to research accounts, identify key contacts, and work toward monthly quotas.
- Assist with warehouse operations by receiving, verifying, and stocking electrical products.
- Review customer orders, pull items from shelves, verify accuracy, and prepare goods for transport.
- Help with loading and unloading materials as needed.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe workspace by following established protocols.
- Communicate issues or concerns to management and complete other tasks as assigned by leadership.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a bachelor degree program for Industrial Distribution, Industrial Engineering, Electrical Engineering, General Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field.
- A High-School Diploma or GED.
- A desire to build a career in sales, construction, engineering, or electrical distribution.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- A self-starting attitude with a strong work ethic.
- Ability to move up to 40 lbs and work in warehouse conditions that may include heat, humidity, and loud noise.
- Ability to operate office equipment and navigate the physical premises of the facility.
