About the role#
Lonestar Electric Supply is looking for an intern to work across various departments. You will gain experience in the electrical distribution industry while providing support to our team. This is a paid, full-time, on-site role based in Houston, Texas.
What you'll do#
- Shadow associates to learn how we interact with customers and partners.
- Assist with customer service for internal and external partners, vendors, and logistics professionals.
- Learn sales best practices and support associates in identifying key accounts.
- Receive, verify, and stock electrical products.
- Pull orders from shelves, check for accuracy, and wrap items for transport.
- Provide loading and unloading support.
- Maintain a clean work environment while following safety protocols.
- Communicate issues or concerns to management.
What you'll need#
- High-School Diploma or GED.
- Current enrollment in a bachelor’s degree program for Industrial Distribution, Industrial Engineering, Electrical Engineering, General Engineering, Business Administration, or a similar field.
- A desire to build a career in sales, construction, engineering, or electrical distribution.
- Strong work ethic and a self-starter mindset.
- Good verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to move up to 40 lbs and work in warehouse conditions, which may include heat, humidity, and loud noise levels.
- Ability to operate office equipment and navigate our physical premises.
