About the role#
Lonestar Electric Supply is seeking an intern to work across various departments. You will gain hands-on experience in the electrical distribution industry while providing support to our teams. This is a paid, full-time, on-site role based in Houston, Texas.
What you'll do#
- Shadow associates across the organization to learn daily operations and business interactions.
- Provide customer service to internal and external partners, logistics professionals, vendors, and employees.
- Learn sales best practices to help achieve monthly quotas.
- Research accounts, identify key contacts, and support associates with outreach.
- Receive, verify, and stock electrical products.
- Review orders, pull requested items, check for accuracy, and prepare them for transport.
- Assist with loading and unloading materials.
- Maintain a clean work environment while following safety guidelines and protocols.
- Communicate issues or concerns to management.
What you'll need#
- High school diploma or GED.
- Current enrollment in a bachelor’s degree program for Industrial Distribution, Industrial Engineering, Electrical Engineering, General Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field.
- A desire to build a career in sales, construction, engineering, or electrical distribution.
- Strong work ethic and a self-starting attitude.
- Good verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to move up to 40 lbs and work in warehouse conditions that may include heat, humidity, or loud noise.
- Ability to operate office equipment and navigate the physical premises.
