About the role#
Lonestar Electric Supply is hiring an intern to work across various departments. You will gain exposure to the electrical distribution industry while providing support to our teams. This is a full-time, paid internship based in Houston, Texas. We accept applications on a rolling basis throughout the year.
What you'll do#
- Shadow associates to understand daily operations and partner interactions.
- Assist internal and external partners, customers, vendors, and employees.
- Support sales efforts by researching accounts and identifying key contacts.
- Learn techniques to close sales and meet monthly quotas.
- Receive, verify, and stock electrical products.
- Pull, check, and wrap orders for transport.
- Help load and unload shipments.
- Maintain a clean work environment and follow safety protocols.
- Communicate issues or concerns to management.
What you'll need#
- High-School Diploma or GED.
- Current enrollment in a bachelor’s program for Industrial Distribution, Industrial Engineering, Electrical Engineering, General Engineering, or Business Administration.
- Interest in a career within Sales, Construction, Engineering, or Electrical Distribution.
- Strong work ethic and a desire to learn.
- Clear verbal and written communication skills.
Location & details#
- Location: Houston, Texas.
- Modality: On-site.
- Physical requirements include moving up to 40 lbs and working in warehouse conditions that may be loud or not climate-controlled.
- You will spend about half your time in a stationary position and the other half navigating the premises.
