About the role#
Lockton is hiring for a People Solutions Intern to join our team in Nashville for the Summer 2027 term. This is a 10-week, full-time, paid internship. You will work directly with our Associates to support client services and learn the fundamentals of employee benefits consulting. You will have a summer mentor to help manage your workload, plus one-on-one coaching and networking opportunities with clients and carrier partners.
What you'll do#
- Support our team with an active book of business for a variety of clients.
- Participate in a training program covering employee benefits and consulting skills.
- Assist with benefits renewal analysis and requests for proposals (RFPs).
- Prepare monthly client financial reporting and benchmarking exhibits to compare benefit offerings against normative data.
- Review contracts, communication materials, and company cost sharing strategies.
- Present to a client during at least one meeting.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a degree program with a graduation date in Spring 2028 or Fall/Winter 2027.
- Legal right to work in the United States.
- Proficiency with MS Office, including Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
- Experience in customer service or project management.
- Strong verbal, written, interpersonal, and analytical skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Preferred majors include business, insurance, marketing, finance, statistics, or health sciences, though all majors are welcome to apply.

- This position is located in Nashville, Tennessee.
- The role is on-site.
- Housing is not provided and is the responsibility of the intern.
- The pay rate for this position is $25 per hour.
