About the role#
Lockton is hiring Financial Analyst Interns for a 10-week summer program in Chicago. You will join our financial team to support client service and solutions. You will work alongside associates to build your business acumen and technical skills while learning about the insurance industry and employee benefits consulting. This is a paid, full-time, on-site internship.
What you'll do#
- Support a team with an active book of business for a variety of clients.
- Participate in a training program covering the fundamentals of employee benefits consulting.
- Assist with projects such as benefits renewal analysis and requests for proposals.
- Prepare monthly client financial reporting and benchmarking exhibits.
- Compare client benefit offerings against normative data.
- Gain familiarity with contracts, communication materials, and cost-sharing strategies.
- Present to a client during at least one meeting.
- Receive one-on-one coaching and work with a mentor to manage your daily workload.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment as a student who has completed junior year studies.
- Graduation date planned for December 2027 or May 2028.
- Major in actuarial science is preferred, though we are open to statistics, economics, business, insurance, or other analytical fields.
- Successful completion of actuarial exams is a plus.
- Strong computer skills, specifically with word processing and spreadsheet software like Excel and PowerPoint.
- Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations.
- Strong organizational, communication, and customer service skills.
- Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks effectively.
- Legal right to work in the United States.
Location & details#
- Location: Chicago, Illinois.
- Term: Summer 2027.
- Pay: $25 per hour.
- Housing: Interns are responsible for securing their own housing.
