About the role#
Lockton is hiring Financial/Actuarial Analyst Interns for a 10-week summer program in St. Louis. You will join our financial team to support client service and gain exposure to the insurance industry. This role includes one-on-one coaching, mentorship, and networking opportunities with clients and carrier partners. You will work alongside associates to develop your technical skills and business acumen.
What you'll do#
- Support a team with an active book of business for various clients.
- Participate in a training program to learn the fundamentals of employee benefits consulting.
- Assist with projects like benefits renewal analysis and requests for proposals.
- Prepare monthly client financial reporting and benchmarking exhibits.
- Review contracts, communication materials, and cost sharing strategies.
- Present to a client during at least one meeting.
What you'll need#
- Currently enrolled as a student who has completed junior year studies.
- Graduation date set for December 2027 or May 2028.
- Major in actuarial science, insurance, statistics, economics, business, or another analytical field.
- Successful completion of actuarial exams is a plus.
- Proficiency in word processing and spreadsheets, with specific experience in Excel and PowerPoint preferred.
- Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
- Strong organizational, communication, and customer service skills.
- Ability to multitask and prioritize effectively.
- Legal right to work in the United States.

- Compensation: $20 per hour.
- Housing is the responsibility of the intern.
