About the role#
We are looking for a Finance Intern to join our team in Tampa. This role provides hands-on experience in core finance and accounting functions. It is an opportunity for students or recent graduates to apply academic knowledge in a real-world setting while developing practical financial skills.
What you'll do#
- Process accounts payable and accounts receivable, including invoice review and data entry.
- Support month-end close activities like account reconciliations and journal entry preparation.
- Maintain and update financial records, spreadsheets, and databases.
- Prepare financial reports, budget summaries, and variance analyses.
- Collect and organize data to help the finance team make business decisions.
- Assist with expense reporting and cross-departmental reconciliation.
- Research billing discrepancies and resolve accounting issues.
- Participate in team meetings and contribute your ideas.
- Support special projects, including process improvements or system implementations.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in or recent graduation from a degree program in Finance, Accounting, Business, or a related field.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Excel skills like formulas, pivot tables, and basic modeling.
- Strong organizational, time management, and communication skills.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- High attention to detail, numerical accuracy, and problem-solving skills.
- Professional demeanor and a positive attitude.
- Ability to handle sensitive financial information with discretion.
- Previous experience in finance or accounting is a plus but is not required.
