    About the role#

    Lao Family Community Development (LFCD) is seeking a Grants and Resource Development Fellow to support institutional fundraising and organizational communications. This role assists with identifying funding opportunities, managing proposal development, and creating content that highlights our community impact. You will work closely with program managers and leadership to secure public and private funding while building skills in nonprofit management and strategic planning. This is a full-time, on-site position based at our Oakland headquarters.

    What you'll do#

    • Draft proposal narratives, statements of need, work plans, and evaluation plans.
    • Assist in preparing grant proposals, RFPs, LOIs, and executive summaries.
    • Coordinate the collection of proposal attachments, budgets, and supporting documentation.
    • Edit, proofread, and format proposal packages for accuracy and compliance.
    • Monitor federal, state, and private funding opportunities.
    • Maintain grant calendars, submission schedules, and internal tracking systems.
    • Facilitate meetings with internal departments and external partners to coordinate proposal development.
    • Support grant reporting, documentation, and closeout activities.
    • Develop marketing and communications materials, including participant stories and impact reports.
    • Compile program outcomes, demographic data, and organizational statistics.
    • Update agency profiles, boilerplate text, and program descriptions.
    • Support special projects and relationship-building activities with community partners and funders.

    What you'll need#

    • A Bachelor's degree or current enrollment in a graduate program related to Nonprofit Management, Public Administration, Communications, English, Business Administration, Community Development, Public Policy, Social Sciences, or Marketing.
    • Excellent verbal, written, editing, and interpersonal communication skills in English.
    • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
    • Research and analytical abilities.
    • Project management and organizational skills, with the ability to handle multiple deadlines.
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Google Workspace, Adobe Acrobat, and virtual collaboration tools.
    • Ability to work independently and collaborate with diverse teams.
    • A commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion, and community-centered service.
    • Experience with grant management systems, CRM platforms, graphic design software, or website content management is desirable.

    • Employment Type: Full-time.
    • Compensation: $19 - $22 per hour.
    • Term: Rolling.
