About the role#
We are seeking a Research & Development Lab Intern for the Summer 2027 term at our WinField United Innovation Center. You will work within the Product Development group to support our chemistry, biological, phenotyping, and controlled environments laboratories. This role involves hands-on work in greenhouses, growth chambers, and chemistry labs to assist in the development and validation of WinField United products.
What you'll do#
- Support laboratory operations including chemistry, biological, and phenotyping tasks.
- Assist with research trials and experiments in greenhouse and growth chamber settings.
- Prepare experimental treatments and materials.
- Operate specialized research equipment.
- Conduct laboratory procedures and collect data for analysis.
- Support the validation of existing and new products.
- Adhere to strict safety standards when handling crop protection products.
- Wear required personal protective equipment and chemical application gear.
What you'll need#
- Sophomore or junior standing in a bachelor’s degree program for chemistry, horticulture, plant science, plant pathology, or a related field.
- A minimum GPA of 3.0.
- An interest in conducting research.
- Ability to work independently without direct supervision.
- Strong communication, writing, and critical thinking skills.
- Capability to manage time, prioritize projects, and adapt to changing conditions.
- Strong interpersonal skills to work collaboratively and provide or receive feedback.
- Resourcefulness in solving problems.

- Location: River Falls, Wisconsin.
- Term: Summer 2027 (11 weeks, May through August).
- Status: Full-time, paid internship.
