About the role#
Labcorp is seeking a Network Infrastructure & Automation Engineering Intern to join the Enterprise Infrastructure team. This role offers hands-on experience in how large-scale enterprise networks are engineered, automated, monitored, and secured. You will work alongside senior engineers across a diverse technology stack, participating in real projects rather than observing from the sidelines.
What you'll do#
- Learn how enterprise data center networks operate using Arista EOS and CloudVision.
- Explore Infrastructure-as-Code and Network-as-Code concepts with Ansible and Arista AVD.
- Develop scripts and automation to eliminate repetitive operational tasks.
- Build dashboards, reports, and automated infrastructure health checks.
- Gain experience with Citrix NetScaler VPX, DNS, DHCP, IP address management, and NTP services.
- Assist with infrastructure documentation and operational runbooks.
- Participate in troubleshooting exercises, root-cause analysis, and engineering design discussions.
- Work with tools including Bitbucket, Linux, APIs, YAML, JSON, and Python.
- Present the results of your summer project to engineers and IT leadership.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a Bachelor's degree program in Computer Science, Information Technology, Computer Engineering, Network Engineering, Information Systems, or Electrical/Computer Engineering.
- 3-6 months of experience in TCP/IP networking, routing, switching, and Linux.
- 3-6 months of experience in Python.
- 3-6 months of experience in automation, scripting, and APIs.
- 3-6 months of experience in cloud computing and cybersecurity.
- 3-6 months of experience in Git or source control.

- Location: Durham, North Carolina.
- Term: Summer 2027 (May 24, 2027 to August 13, 2027).
- Modality: Hybrid.
- Schedule: Full-time, 40 hours per week.
- Compensation: Paid internship.
- Note: This position is not eligible for visa sponsorship.
