About the role#
Labcorp is hiring a Lab Intern for our Summer 2027 program in San Diego. This is a full-time, paid, 11-week position running from June 1st through August 13th. You will work on-site, Monday through Friday, from 7:00am to 3:30pm.
What you'll do#
- Shadow laboratory professionals to learn diagnostic workflows, instrumentation, and department operations.
- Assist with non-testing tasks such as specimen organization, inventory, and workspace preparation.
- Perform mock testing, demonstrations, and basic laboratory techniques under supervision.
- Support approved laboratory projects.
- Follow all safety and compliance standard operating procedures.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a Bachelor’s degree program for Chemistry, Biology, Clinical Laboratory Science, or Medical Technology.
- An interest in laboratory science and the diagnostics industry.
- Strong attention to detail and a willingness to follow specific laboratory procedures.
- Eagerness to learn new scientific concepts and skills.
- Ability to work independently under general supervision.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Professionalism, including punctuality and appropriate conduct.
