About the role#
Labcorp is seeking an Accounts Receivable & Collections Intern to join the Revenue Cycle Management team. This role supports the management of outstanding balances and revenue cycle processes. You will gain hands-on experience with aging reports, account reconciliation, and client account management while working with team members and internal partners.
What you'll do#
- Monitor on-account cash application postings and address duplicate payments.
- Review aging reports to identify billing corrections, credits, and debits.
- Prepare Excel documents to track and offset billing adjustments.
- Follow up on outstanding amounts to support reduced days sales outstanding.
- Assist with monthly account status narratives and maintain client aging information.
- Participate in client and internal conference calls.
- Manage ServiceNow tickets by assigning them to collectors and following up on open or breached items.
- Support A/R subledger reconciliation and clean-up efforts.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a Bachelor’s degree program in Finance, Business, Accounting, or a related field.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and work in a high-volume team environment.
- Strong planning, organizational, and problem-solving skills with high attention to detail.
- Ability to remain persistent while maintaining tact.
- Prior business experience or familiarity with PeopleSoft or other large ERP systems is preferred.
Location & details#
- This is a full-time, paid internship for Summer 2027.
- The term runs from June 1, 2027, to August 13, 2027.
- Work may be performed remotely or in a hybrid capacity based in Durham, North Carolina.
- This position is not eligible for visa sponsorship.
