About the role#
This Systems Engineering Co-Op position involves working with engineers across multiple departments to support systems solutions projects and the evaluation of ruggedized Line Replaceable Units. You will contribute to the development of optical sensor and targeting systems used in global defense, search and rescue, and law enforcement operations.
What you'll do#
- Perform functional product testing in a laboratory setting.
- Create and manage software testing utilities to validate system functionality.
- Develop, document, and execute test procedures for hardware and software.
- Write detailed reports on test results.
- Generate and revise systems engineering documentation, including specifications and interface control documents.
- Organize and track the compliance status of requirement verification activities.
- Use electronic equipment such as spectrum analyzers and digital oscilloscopes.
- Support Bids and Proposals activities by handling technical queries and compliance matrices.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in a Bachelors or Advanced degree program in Engineering or Science.
- Ability to commit to a 16 month Co-Op term.
- Current enrollment and good standing in a university co-op program.
- Ability to obtain Canadian Controlled Goods Program (CGP) clearance.
- Proficiency in MS Office applications and strong report writing skills.
- Knowledge of programming languages such as C, C++, or C#.
- Understanding of software interface and communication protocols.
- Familiarity with both Mechanical and Electrical engineering principles.
- Ability to coordinate interdepartmental efforts and work independently.
- Experience with electro-mechanical systems, optics, or laser devices is an asset.

- Duration: 16 month term.
- Compensation: $25 per hour.
