    About the role#

    This is a 16-month co-op term starting in May 2026. You will work under the direction of your manager and the Senior Operations Engineer Lead. You will collaborate with Operations Engineering, Engineering, and Production teams to interpret technical information and recommend solutions. This role involves contributing to system and process changes to meet operational targets. You will work in a project-based environment, managing multiple priorities while ensuring tasks are completed on time.

    What you'll do#

    • Lead and participate in mechanical engineering projects of moderate scope and complexity.
    • Provide mechanical design analysis and testing support for new and existing products.
    • Participate in design reviews and support verification and validation of new product designs.
    • Partner with the Mechanical Frontline team to resolve operational technical issues.
    • Capture and analyze data related to estimating accuracy and cycle times on the shop floor.
    • Create and maintain Manufacturing Assembly Procedures (MAPs).
    • Support documentation changes, including service procedures, work instructions, and Manufacturing Execution System (MES) authoring.
    • Review and implement change requests from engineering and mechanical staff.
    • Ensure products meet customer requirements and quality standards.

    What you'll need#

    • Enrollment in a university Mechanical Engineering program.
    • Currently enrolled and in good standing with a co-op program through an accredited university.
    • Ability to obtain Canadian Controlled Goods Program (CGP) clearance.
    • Experience with a solid modeling CAD package, preferably SolidWorks.
    • Familiarity with electro-mechanical manufacturing processes.
    • Ability to read and understand mechanical drawings.
    • Strong technical communication skills, both verbal and written.
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office products.
    • Mechanical aptitude and hands-on skills developed through coursework or experience.
    • Strong mathematical and analysis skills.
    • Highly motivated, organized, and goal-oriented approach.

    • Location: Waterdown, Ontario, Canada.
    • Work Modality: On-site.
    • Compensation: $25 per hour.
    • Term: 16-month full-time co-op.
