About the role#
As a Pharmacist Intern, you will support our pharmacy team in providing essential care and service to our customers. This role focuses on maintaining a safe, clean, and welcoming environment while gaining hands-on experience in pharmaceutical operations and patient interaction.
What you'll do#
- Create a welcoming experience for customers through helpful service and clear communication.
- Assist the department manager in meeting sales and profit goals while following quality assurance standards.
- Input patient and prescription data into the pharmacy system accurately.
- Interpret oral and written prescriptions for fill or refill requests.
- Dispense medications and provide drug counseling to customers.
- Recommend over-the-counter medications and answer product questions.
- Contact prescribers and insurance companies to resolve authorization or processing issues.
- Provide immunizations under the direct supervision of a pharmacist.
- Manage pharmacy inventory by checking incoming orders, stocking shelves, and returning unused medication bottles.
- Maintain a clean department and report any safety risks, accidents, or illegal activity to management.
- Demonstrate core values of respect, honesty, integrity, and safety in all interactions.
What you'll need#
- Active enrollment in a US school of pharmacy.
- A current state-issued Pharmacy Intern license.
- Ability to promote trust and respect among team members.
- Capability to perform all essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodation.
