About the role#
KPMG Canada is hiring interns for the Forensic team for the 2027 calendar year. This is a full-time, paid position based on-site in Montreal, Quebec. We are looking for students available for the Winter, Summer, or Fall 2027 terms.
What you'll do#
- Collaborate with engagement teams to turn data requirements into analytics routines.
- Write scripts and workflows for data extraction, querying, and manipulation.
- Examine client data to identify findings and suggest improvements.
- Review operational systems and document internal controls through data analytics.
- Investigate fraud allegations, determine causes, and recommend corrective actions while preserving evidence.
- Conduct technical testing and domain research.
- Create presentation materials for data modeling discussions with stakeholders.
What you'll need#
- An excellent academic record in Data Management, Business Intelligence, Artificial Intelligence, Business Analytics, Information Systems, or a related technology field.
- A strong record of extracurricular involvement such as student government or case competitions.
- A specific interest in financial reporting processes and controls.
- Experience or familiarity with software including Alteryx, Tableau, MS Power BI, SQL, Python, R, or ACL/IDEA.
- The ability to manage multiple tasks with competing priorities.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work well within a team.
