About the role#
As a Supply Chain Intern, you will gain hands-on experience supporting construction operations. You will work within the Kiewit Supply Network, learning key functions such as estimating, contracts, quality, purchasing, logistics, and material management. This paid, full-time summer internship provides exposure to the daily operations of a large-scale construction firm.
What you'll do#
- Negotiate, renegotiate, and administer contracts with vendors and suppliers.
- Purchase materials at the lowest possible cost while meeting quality specifications.
- Research and evaluate suppliers based on price, reliability, service, and availability.
- Prepare purchase orders, solicit bid proposals, and review requisitions for goods and services.
- Maintain records of items purchased, costs, deliveries, and inventory levels.
- Monitor contract performance to ensure compliance with obligations.
- Design and present an end of program presentation to showcase your work and development.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an undergraduate or graduate degree program in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Ability to work full-time during the summer months.
- Capability to travel and relocate as needed for project assignments.
- Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screen and background check.
Location & details#
- This is an on-site, full-time position for Summer 2027.
- Potential assignment locations include Lenexa, KS; Lone Tree, CO; Houston, TX; Westlake, TX; and Peachtree, GA.
