About the role#
Kiewit is hiring a Structural Intern for the Winter 2027 term. You will join the Infrastructure Design Department in Oakville, Ontario. This role focuses on supporting design-build infrastructure projects through an integrated engineering and construction approach. You will work alongside engineers, estimators, and builders to develop safe and effective design solutions.
What you'll do#
- Produce simple design calculations and analyses.
- Participate in the development of various design deliverables.
- Collaborate directly with engineers, designers, and drafters.
- Build internal tools and processes to support the team.
- Develop new design tools and standards.
- Gather market intelligence to assist the department.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a degree in Civil or Structural Engineering or a related field.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
- A strong work ethic and the ability to meet deadlines.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to follow oral and written instructions and safety protocols.
- Willingness to work at job sites, district offices, or departments as assigned.
- Availability for a full-time, 4-month internship while returning to full-time studies afterward.
