About the role#
This internship provides hands-on experience in construction management. You will work within a team under the guidance of experienced engineers. Depending on the assignment, you may work in field operations, office engineering, or estimating. This role is a full-time, paid position for the Winter 2027 term.
What you'll do#
- Perform engineering tasks using standard techniques and resolve minor technical problems during construction.
- Assist with field engineering, operation planning, cost control, project scheduling, and quantity tracking.
- Maintain records for job progress, costs, and material usage.
- Review plans and specifications to determine material requirements and pricing.
- Coordinate with suppliers to handle and expedite material deliveries.
- Estimate costs for large-scale projects.
- Use software including Hard Dollar, AutoCAD, P6, and InRoads.
- Investigate reported incidents and recommend solutions.
What you'll need#
- Current pursuit of an undergraduate or graduate degree in civil engineering, construction management, or a related field.
- Ability to work full-time during the Winter term.
- Capacity to access all areas of a construction site in various climates and environments.
- Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently to meet goals while also functioning as a team player.
- Strong organization, time management, and attention to detail.
- Commitment to ethics, integrity, and safety.
- Willingness to travel or relocate as needed.
