About the role#
Kennedy Jenks is seeking a Water/Wastewater Engineering Intern for the Summer 2027 term in Walnut Creek, California. This internship provides an opportunity to support project teams working on water resources, water quality, wastewater treatment, and recycled water planning. You will work on projects for clients in the water, transportation, and industrial sectors.
What you'll do#
- Apply engineering skills and calculations from your coursework to real projects.
- Assist with technical report preparation, design plans, and specifications.
- Document pre-construction conditions and perform field work at project sites.
- Manage ongoing project tasks and communicate with team members and clients.
- Attend and contribute to client meetings.
- Network with employees and clients while receiving mentorship and professional advising.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an undergraduate or graduate degree program for Civil, Environmental, Chemical, or a related Engineering field.
- Completion of at least junior-year standing in an accredited engineering program.
Location & details#
- Location: Walnut Creek, California.
- Modality: Hybrid work model with a minimum of two days per week in the office.
- Compensation: Paid position with an anticipated rate of $21 to $26 per hour.
- Benefits: Includes $15 per month for cell phone costs, participation in the 401(k) plan, and accrual of paid sick time.
