About the role#
Kennedy Jenks is hiring a Water/Wastewater Engineering Intern for the summer of 2027 in Portland, Oregon. This is a full-time, paid position that offers exposure to projects involving water resources, water quality, and wastewater treatment. You will work in a hybrid environment, with a requirement to be in the office at least two days per week.
What you'll do#
- Support project teams with water treatment and recycled water planning.
- Perform field work and visit project sites.
- Prepare technical reports and perform engineering calculations.
- Document pre-construction conditions.
- Develop design plans and specifications.
- Manage ongoing project tasks and communicate with team members and clients.
- Attend and contribute to client meetings.
- Participate in mentorship, advising, and networking opportunities.
- Apply academic skills to real-world engineering projects.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an undergraduate or graduate degree program in Civil, Environmental, or Chemical Engineering, or a related field.
- Completion of at least your sophomore year in an accredited engineering program.

- Location: Portland, Oregon.

- Compensation: $21 to $26 per hour.
