About the role#
Kennedy Jenks is seeking a Water/Wastewater Engineering Intern for our 2027 Kickstart Internship Program in Sacramento. This full-time, paid summer role supports project teams working on water resources, water quality, wastewater and water treatment, and recycled water planning. You will contribute to projects that address the needs of our water, transportation, and industrial clients.
What you'll do#
- Apply academic skills and calculations to real-world projects.
- Assist with technical report preparation, design plans, and specifications.
- Conduct field work and document pre-construction conditions.
- Manage ongoing project tasks and communicate with team members and clients.
- Attend and contribute to client meetings.
- Visit project sites to observe progress.
- Participate in networking and receive mentorship from experienced staff.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an undergraduate or graduate program for Civil, Environmental, or Chemical Engineering.
- Completion of at least junior (third-year) standing in an accredited engineering program.
Location & details#
- This position is based in Sacramento, California.
- The role follows a hybrid work model, requiring at least two days per week in the office.
- This is a paid summer internship for 2027.
