About the role#
The Summer 2027 Internship at Keiter CPAs offers accounting students a comprehensive introduction to public accounting. Interns rotate through both Tax and Audit departments, gaining hands-on experience with real client work, firm systems, and professional workflows. This is a full-time, paid position designed to provide a realistic preview of a career in accounting.
What you'll do#
- Assist on audit engagements across multiple industries.
- Perform audit testing procedures, including cash, payroll, investment, and compliance testing.
- Help prepare and update audit documentation and workpapers.
- Prepare and assist with individual and business tax returns.
- Input and reconcile trial balances, fixed assets, and adjusting journal entries.
- Conduct basic tax research.
- Assist with book-to-tax reconciliations and clearing review points.
What you'll need#
- Completion of at least one semester of an intermediate-level accounting class.
- Strong written and oral communication skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, and other computer skills.
- A detail-oriented, enthusiastic, and collaborative mindset.
- An interest in pursuing a career in public accounting and sitting for the CPA exam.

- Compensation: $30.00-$32.50 per hour, depending on experience and qualifications.
