About the role#
This internship is a 10-week program within the Core Development team. You will work alongside experienced software engineers and receive ongoing coaching from a dedicated mentor. This program serves as a primary path for identifying candidates for full-time roles at the firm.
What you'll do#
- Design, code, test, and maintain distributed trading systems and large-scale supercomputers.
- Work directly on production code using a full-cycle development, testing, and release process.
- Contribute to a real-time, high-performance trading platform and related infrastructure.
- Take on additional duties as assigned or needed.
What you'll need#
- Proficiency in C++ or Python development on Linux.
- Strong understanding of data structures and threading models.
- Ability to work with a team to deploy software.
- Interest in applying knowledge from hardware, networking, and OS design to build high-performance software.
- Reliable and predictable availability.
- Advanced coursework in algorithms, network programming, operating systems, or compilers is helpful.
- Experience with AI tools like Claude Code is a plus.
- Previous internship or software development experience is a plus.
- We welcome students from Computer Science, Mathematics, and Physics backgrounds.
