Campus AI Research Engineer - Deep Learning (Intern)

About the role#

Jump Trading is seeking researchers to apply machine learning to complex, challenging domains. You will be responsible for implementing research projects from initial concept through to production, focusing on improving model design, infrastructure, and tooling. This role requires a blend of AI/ML expertise, engineering pragmatism, and statistical analysis to solve problems across the quantitative research and monetization process.

What you'll do#

• Apply state-of-the-art techniques to complex domains.
• Collaborate with researchers and quants to build flexible, reusable frameworks for financial machine learning.
• Optimize training pipelines to maximize the efficiency of high-performance computing (HPC) resources.
• Integrate machine learning models into production systems with a focus on low-latency requirements.
• Develop large-scale machine learning systems that are performant, observable, and flexible.
• Utilize a mix of programming languages including C, C++, Python, and CUDA.

What you'll need#

• A strong publication record at major conferences such as ICML, ICLR, AAAI, NeurIPS, UAI, or KDD.
• A solid background in general machine learning with exposure to modern deep learning techniques.
• Proficiency with machine learning libraries and frameworks such as PyTorch, JAX, or TensorFlow.
• Intellectual curiosity, versatility, and a pragmatic approach to problem-solving.
• The ability to thrive in a collaborative, team-oriented environment.
