About the role#
Jump Trading is seeking a Campus AI Research Engineer to join our team as an intern. This role focuses on applying machine learning to complex domains, moving projects from initial concept through to production. You will work alongside researchers and quantitative traders to develop predictive models and improve the infrastructure that supports our research efforts.
What you'll do#
- Apply state-of-the-art machine learning techniques to challenging research domains.
- Collaborate with researchers and quants to build flexible, reusable frameworks for financial machine learning.
- Optimize training pipelines to maximize the efficiency of high-performance computing resources.
- Integrate machine learning models into production systems where low latency is critical.
- Develop large-scale machine learning systems that are performant, observable, and flexible.
- Reduce iteration cycle times to improve overall research productivity.
What you'll need#
- A strong publication record at major conferences such as ICML, ICLR, AAAI, NeurIPS, UAI, or KDD.
- A solid background in machine learning with exposure to modern deep learning techniques.
- Proficiency with machine learning frameworks such as PyTorch, JAX, or TensorFlow.
- Strong development skills in Python or C++.
- Intellectual curiosity, versatility, and a pragmatic approach to problem-solving.
- The ability to work effectively within a collaborative, team-oriented environment.
- Current enrollment in a degree program related to Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, Electrical Engineering, or Computer Engineering.
