About the role#
Jump Trading is seeking research scientists to apply machine learning to complex and challenging domains. This internship involves implementing research projects from concept to production, focusing on model design, tools, and infrastructure. You will work within a team of traders, quantitative researchers, and engineers to develop predictive models and improve research productivity.
What you'll do#
- Apply state-of-the-art techniques to complex and challenging domains.
- Build flexible and reusable frameworks for financial machine learning.
- Optimize training pipelines to utilize high-performance computing (HPC) resources.
- Integrate machine learning models into production systems where latency is a critical factor.
- Work across a mix of programming languages including C, C++, Python, and CUDA.
- Build large-scale machine learning systems that are observable, performant, and flexible.
- Reduce iteration cycle time to improve overall research productivity.
What you'll need#
- Strong publication record at ICML, ICLR, AAAI, NeurIPS, UAI, KDD, or equivalent, or contributions to open-source AI research.
- Solid background in machine learning with exposure to modern deep learning techniques.
- Development proficiency in Python and/or C++.
- Familiarity with machine learning libraries and frameworks such as PyTorch, JAX, or TensorFlow.
- Ability to work effectively in a collaborative, team-oriented environment.
- Ability to reason through quantitative problems and communicate clearly with researchers.
- Currently pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics, Data Science, or Electrical Engineering.
