About the role#
Jordan's Furniture is seeking an Instructional Design Intern for the Summer 2027 term. This is a 10-week paid internship starting June 7th, 2027. You will join the Learning & Development team to create and enhance training materials, e-learning content, and employee development resources. This role provides hands-on experience in adult learning principles and content development while supporting our retail and corporate teams.
What you'll do#
- Design learner-centered training experiences and take ownership of a meaningful instructional design project.
- Create learning objectives, storyboards, content outlines, and design documents.
- Develop and maintain instructor-led, virtual, and e-learning materials such as presentations, job aids, videos, and guides.
- Collaborate with subject matter experts to complete training needs analysis.
- Apply instructional design best practices to improve knowledge retention and performance.
- Gather learner feedback and evaluate training effectiveness to support continuous improvement.
- Research emerging trends in workplace learning and learning technologies.
- Organize and maintain learning assets, templates, and content repositories.
- Partner with stakeholders across Sales, Customer Service, Distribution, and corporate departments.
What you'll need#
- Rising college junior or senior status pursuing a degree in Instructional Design, Learning & Development, Education, Human Resources, Organizational Development, or a related field.
- Creative, detail-oriented approach with the ability to organize and present information clearly.
- Comfort with technology and a willingness to learn new content creation tools and platforms.
- Proactive and self-motivated work style.
- Experience creating presentations, digital content, videos, or educational resources is a plus.
- Prior experience in presenting, customer service, or Human Resources is preferred but not required.
Location & details#
- Location: East Taunton, Massachusetts.
- Modality: Hybrid, with travel to retail store locations throughout New England.
- Compensation: $23.00 per hour.
- Status: Full-time.
