About the role#
Joliet Junior College is hiring a student employee to assist with the general upkeep of exterior campus facilities. This is an entry-level part-time position within the Facility Services department. You will work outdoors and assist full-time and part-time staff with various maintenance tasks.
What you'll do#
- Remove trash from campus grounds.
- Clear snow and manage ice on campus sidewalks.
- Maintain athletic fields.
- Tend to plant beds.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in at least 6 credit hours at Joliet Junior College during the fall or spring semester.
- A GPA of 2.0 or higher.
- A valid driver's license.
- Ability to lift 50 lbs. from the ground to waist height.
- Ability to work from a ladder or power lift at heights of 20 to 25 feet.
- Willingness to learn and clear communication skills.
- Preference is given to candidates with verbal and written proficiency in English and Spanish.
Location & details#
- The position is located at the main campus in Joliet, Illinois.
- This role is on-site and works around your class schedule.
- You may work up to 20 hours per week during the fall and spring semesters.
- During summer and holiday breaks, you may work up to 28 hours per week with supervisor approval.
