About the role#
This summer internship places you within the J&J Innovative Medicine R&D Data, Data Science, and AI organization. You will partner with teams across the business to apply advanced analytics to research questions. You will work alongside data scientists and subject matter experts to build and refine data science solutions.
What you'll do#
- Process and analyze wearable sensor and neuroimaging data.
- Develop machine learning models for digital biomarker discovery.
- Validate digital health endpoints.
- Generate insights from real-world physiological and behavioral data.
- Model and predict disease severity and progression.
- Discover disease subtypes.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a PhD in Biomedical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Neuroscience, Applied Mathematics, Statistics, Data Science, or a related quantitative field.
- Strong working knowledge of AI and machine learning.
- Advanced skills in Python or R.
- Experience in predictive modeling, statistics, and large dataset analysis.
- Strong technical communication and presentation skills.
- Basic knowledge of data cleaning and data quality.
- Experience with sensor, wearable device, clinical records, or medical imaging data.
- Proficiency with PyTorch.
- Experience with semi-supervised or self-supervised learning and Foundation Models.
- You must be permanently authorized to work in the U.S. without requiring sponsorship of an employment visa.
