About the role#
This is a part-time student position within the Product Engineering department at John Deere. You will work alongside our regular staff to support engine certification and compliance processes. This role requires year-round participation and is designed to run in parallel with your academic schedule.
What you'll do#
- Support engine certification and compliance plans by identifying and analyzing project information.
- Assist with the exempt label process.
- Complete tasks according to established project plans and schedules.
- Maintain and improve existing department tools and processes.
- Draft correspondence to support daily operations.
- Learn company policies, practices, and product lines.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment as a full-time student at a local accredited university.
- Pursuit of a degree in Engineering, Management Information Systems, Technology, Networking, Business, or related fields.
- A graduation date of May 2028 or later.
- A cumulative GPA of 2.8 or higher.
- Ability to commute to Waterloo, IA on a daily basis.
- Availability to work 10-20 hours per week during the school year and 16-40 hours per week during the summer.
- Minimum age of 18.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Teams, Excel, and Word.
- Experience with database platforms.
- Strong organizational, communication, and time management skills.
- High attention to detail and a self-motivated approach to independent tasks.
