About the role#
As a Field Engineer Intern with JHL Constructors, you will apply your academic training in a real-world construction setting. You will support the field management team with document control, change management, record keeping, and scheduling. You will also assist the Superintendent and field staff with building control, quality control, and safety compliance throughout the construction process.
What you'll do#
- Maintain a thorough understanding of contract documents and define procedures for updating as-built documents.
- Develop and maintain document control logs for submittals, RFI, and change management.
- Interpret drawings and specifications for field crews and craft supervision.
- Review submittals, prepare and distribute RFI documents, and assist with project closeout.
- Perform quantity calculations and assist with daily labor timesheets.
- Prepare meeting minutes for coordination and subcontractor meetings.
- Collect and file Superintendent Daily Job Reports and project progress photos.
- Inspect and verify material deliveries and assist in the preparation of work plans.
- Monitor procurement schedules and coordinate material deliveries with the project team.
- Assist with short interval schedule management and create supplemental schedules for subcontractors.
- Provide field work layout support and resolve construction issues.
- Coordinate subcontractor pre-construction meetings and manage the completion of punch lists.
- Participate in job-site safety reviews and assist in preparing Job Hazard Analysis documents.
- Maintain job-site safety and storm water compliance documentation.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a Construction Management program.
- Proficiency in Procore, Microsoft Office, and Primavera P6.
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.
- Strong time management, organizational, and communication skills.
- High attention to detail.
- Ability to obtain project-specific and equipment operation safety training.
- Willingness to attend operational software training as needed.
Location & details#
- This is a full-time, on-site internship based in Englewood, Colorado.
- The term for this position is Summer 2027.
