About the role#
This is a 12-week paid internship focused on New Product Introduction (NPI). You will work on-site in Wilmington, Ohio, during the summer of 2027. The program provides hands-on experience in product development, process optimization, and project management while you contribute to active engineering projects.
What you'll do#
- Contribute to one or more active NPI projects from planning through execution.
- Evaluate alternative raw-material suppliers and investigate ways to use lower-cost materials.
- Assist with the development of new technology for capstock formulations and new colors.
- Support the planning, execution, and data collection for NPI trials.
- Analyze trial results using statistical methods and document your conclusions, risks, and recommendations.
- Collaborate with engineering, manufacturing, quality, and R&D teams.
- Develop technical documentation for manufacturing processes.
- Present your project results and technical summaries to stakeholders and senior leaders.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in a bachelor's degree program in Chemical, Mechanical, Plastics, Polymer, Materials, Manufacturing, or a related engineering discipline.
- Anticipated graduation date between December 2027 and May 2029.
- A minimum GPA of 3.0.
- Availability to work full-time for 12 weeks during summer 2027.
- Authorization to work in the United States.
- Reliable transportation to and from the work location.
- Experience with statistical analysis software, such as Minitab.
- Ability to document technical findings and present them to a technical audience.
- Strong communication skills and a hands-on approach to learning.
