About the role#
This is a 12-week paid, full-time summer internship based in Prattville, Alabama. You will gain hands-on experience in a fiber-cement manufacturing environment, working alongside experienced professionals to support production and process improvement.
What you'll do#
- Monitor finishing-line equipment performance to identify inefficiencies.
- Perform quality checks on surface finish, product dimensions, and defects.
- Collect and analyze production data to support process improvements.
- Assist technicians and engineers with equipment troubleshooting.
- Participate in lean and 5S activities to reduce waste and improve workflow.
- Update safety documentation and standard operating procedures.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in a bachelor's degree program in chemical, mechanical, electrical, industrial, pulp & paper, or manufacturing engineering.
- An anticipated graduation date between December 2027 and May 2029.
- A minimum GPA of 3.00.
- Availability to work full-time for 12 weeks during summer 2027.
- Technical aptitude in engineering fundamentals and basic Excel or statistical skills.
- A strong safety mindset and the ability to communicate clearly with operators.
- Reliable transportation to the work site.
- Authorization to work in the United States.
