About the role#
The Dean's Circle Admissions Expert provides high-touch advising for students applying to medical and healthcare professional programs. You will work directly with students to guide them through the application cycle, focusing on strategy, essay reviews, and interview preparation. This is a contract role that allows for flexible hours, with student intake managed based on your availability.
What you'll do#
- Provide one-on-one advising and conduct intake assessments via Zoom.
- Review application components including personal statements, activities, secondary essays, and MD/PhD essays.
- Conduct school list reviews and mock interview preparation.
- Manage student appointments, track applicant timelines, and ensure all tasks are completed on schedule.
- Respond to student inquiries and provide regular updates.
- Handle first-line client service issues with professionalism.
- Maintain accurate records of all edits and deliverables.
What you'll need#
- Five to eight years of experience on a medical admissions committee.
- A graduate-level degree (master's or above) is required. An MD or DO degree is desirable.
- Deep knowledge of the premedical path and medical school admissions processes.
- Strong written and oral communication skills.
- Excellent organizational skills to manage multiple students and deadlines.
- Ability to work collaboratively and adapt to seasonal peaks in the admissions cycle.
- A track record of delivering strong customer service and student success.
- Technical proficiency and high-speed internet access to support remote advising.
Location & details#
- This is a remote, part-time contract position.
- The role is paid per student, with compensation released in milestones throughout the application cycle.
- This position is not eligible for employee benefits.
