Project Support Services Internship

About the role#

J.S. Held is seeking a Project Support Services Intern to join the team in Indianapolis. This position offers hands-on experience in proposal development and marketing documentation within the consulting industry. Architecture students may qualify for hours toward the NCARB Architectural Experience Program (AXP) under the supervision of a registered architect. This is a paid, full-time internship scheduled from January 2027 to August 2027.

What you'll do#

• Develop standard documents to support future proposal development and presentations.
• Update Project Experience pages to align with new corporate standards.
• Research and gather project data through file reviews, online research, and interviews with project managers.
• Collaborate with project managers to refine quantitative and qualitative data into clear, readable content.
• Participate in the proposal development process for new project pursuits.
• Track and report on project progress through weekly updates and meetings.
• Provide graphic support for additional projects as needed.

What you'll need#

• Currently pursuing or completed a Bachelor's degree in Architecture, Construction Management, or an Engineering discipline (e.g., Civil, Environmental, Mechanical).
• 0-4 years of experience with engineering or construction firms, or construction claim/dispute firms.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, with advanced skills in Excel, Word, and PowerPoint preferred.
• Familiarity with marketing software and applications such as Adobe and InDesign.
• Strong communication, mathematical, and organizational skills.
• Analytical problem-solving abilities and the capacity to translate project stories into concise, one-page formats.
