About the role#
ITT Inc. is hiring an Engineering Intern for the Summer 2027 term. This is a full-time, on-site position based in Santa Rosa, California. You will work alongside experienced professionals to support manufacturing processes and engineering projects.
What you'll do#
- Improve business processes and identify project scopes, plans, and business cases.
- Streamline manufacturing and engineering processes using Six Sigma Lean principles to increase yields.
- Design and implement processing methods, including rubber molding solutions.
- Lead improvement projects and track results within the value center.
- Develop and maintain systems for measuring project goals and provide coaching to team members.
- Design manufacturing procedures, production layouts, and the arrangement of machines within the plant.
- Adapt equipment designs to factory conditions and inspect machinery performance.
- Participate in design reviews and provide guidance on specifications.
- Use PFMEA and other techniques to establish process controls and reduce variability.
- Compile assembly process documentation and perform root-cause analysis on product or process failures.
- Specify and implement capital equipment and recommend technical dispositions for component MRB issues.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in a Bachelor’s degree program for Process, Industrial, or Manufacturing Engineering.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to learn and perform statistical analysis.
- Working knowledge of engineering functions.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Project, and Access is preferred.
- Experience with project management, multi-tasking, CAD, ProE tool design, cable, over-mold, Design for Manufacturability, and Lean/Single Piece Flow is helpful.
- Must be a U.S. person as defined by ITAR regulations.
