About the role#
The Department of Education at Ithaca College is seeking a student worker to assist with daily operations and support the department's vision of equity and social justice. This role involves coordinating administrative tasks, managing social media presence, and ensuring the office environment effectively serves students, staff, and faculty. This is a paid position available for the full 2026-2027 academic year.
What you'll do#
- Coordinate and maintain administrative tasks, including photocopying, scanning, and running errands.
- Provide front desk coverage, answer phones, and welcome visitors.
- Manage and post consistently to department social media accounts, including Instagram and Facebook, in coordination with the department chair.
- Create and update promotional materials using Canva and other campus-supported platforms.
- Update the department website using Drupal.
- Support department events, such as the Spring Lecture, workshops, and admissions events.
- Maintain the department library and track office supply inventory.
- Attend weekly meetings with supervisors.
What you'll need#
- At least one year of experience in an Office Assistant role.
- Strong attention to detail and a self-motivated approach to work.
- Familiarity with social media account maintenance and content curation.
- Ability to work independently, identify routine tasks, and solve problems.
- Comfort working with a diverse group of students, faculty, and staff.
- Openness to direction and feedback.
